Than do this...fyi i'm basing this off utorrent so the portfoward section is for the utorrent only. I do not know if this applies to other torrent downloaders and will not cover them, i'll show you my setup becuase it like it and now it.

Download Utorrent, personally it's my favorite, any torrent downloader will do.

Okay so now you have a torrent downloader. Your next step obviously would be to install it. After that depending if you downloaded utorrent or
not this is your next step if you have downloaded utorrent.

You need to head over to port forward and set up an ip address and also open up the ports in your router. You will be setting up the static ip address and you will be forwarding a port. Nothing else. Make sure you know your router and model number. If you have a modem, you have no worries unless utorrent gives you a red signal when connecting, if than I don't know. I use a router.

Now when you set up the statis ip address, the only part that confused me I will clarify for you, the rest is really blunt and simple. When it talks about the DNS it is very vague and uses technical terms I barely scratched, pretty much do this. In the first DNS section when you enter your internet settings under internet protocol just put your normal ip address before you changed it. In the second one under the 3rd section Ex. 192.168.X.1 place a 0. Thats the only etchy part they go over, the rest is blunt and if you had a hard time understanding those instructions give me a pm the instructions being the whole port forward thing.

Okay...now we have a torrent downloader and a static ip address that allows our torrent downloader to actually download. Now we need torrents.

A torrent is pretty much the file you want(program, music, video, games, applications, etc) uploaded to sites for people to download. They are a peer to peer file, meaning you do not download from the site, but you download from other people.

I shall explain a little on torrents to make your search easier. There is two main keys to torrents...one. Seeder. YOU LOVE SEEDERS. Seeders are you best friend and you will love them to death. Peers are eh.

A seeder is a person that has the complete file on there computer and is uploading it to everyone else. Ex. I have a music ablum from alien ant farm. You want this album i upload it to you. The more seeder the faster your download is, seeders increase you download drastically in comparison to peers.

Peers are people who are downloading the file just like you, thing is they may have certain parts of the file you do not and you download these part from them.

When you down load a torrent it breaks up into parts. We have 5 seeders. You can download 1 section from seeder 1 another section from seeder 2 and another section from seeder 3 and so forth. This allows you to download faster, since downloading in bulk takes longer and requires more power.

Now when you search for torrents sites it give you a list of people seeding and a list of peers. Generally its never correct, but it is oooo, "hoho please explain". "Okay curious george I will ^.^."

They are correct in the fact that if one torrent has 20 seeder and 30 peers when you download it the seeders and peers could be the same or they could be 40/80 when you dl.

Now if you have 3 of the same files uploaded by different people Ex.
1 20S 30P
2 10S 5P
3 40s 80P

Number 3 will be the highest no matter what since the numbers always increase if at all, but the lowers files will never overcome the higher ones. For the fact people always click the highest ones they see.

The sites i give you are sites I trust, but I never trust any files for one reason. Every file is a potential virus, but every virus is not.

1. www.demonoid.com is my favorite torrent site for one reason. It allows people to post comments about the file and if it doesn't work you know, if its inffected you know. They stop registering awhile ago and i'm not sure if they have opened up again. If you ask me nicely i might give you my login info so you can use the site

2.www.piratebay.org Now this site is the least of my favorite, but i'm placing this at number 2 for the reason it also allows you to post comments and for you new people this will allow you to get a feel for torrents to be able to use my ultimate site and understand what files are bad and what are good.

3.www.isohunt.comThe best torrent site I know of in exsistance, now I haven't looked farther than these 3, but i have yet to hear of any better. This site does not post comments, but it has the biggest seeders and the biggest peers for all the files. I usually go to demonoid to find a file and read comments, than find a file with the exact name on isohunt.

Now i am not liable for you downloading anything contaning virus, I will not help you remove viruses, I will not help you find files, I will may not help you with anything beyond this point, depending on what you ask. This is what I use so if you go some other way and have problems. Out of luck. Ignorance sucks, I know, but I learned from trial and error. So shall you.

pretty good for people who want a nice start. First thing I would do is download Avast Pro AntiVirus (Vista Users), or AVG Pro (xp users). They are life savers if you ever come across a torrent containing a virus or trojan.

In regards to websites, Demonoid is by far the best but they only have registration periods once a month so you have to go on everyday to see if regisrtation is open or get lucky one day. I also use:

Those are great sites.......MAKE SURE to read the comments before downloading a torrent, it will save you a lot of trouble.

www.isohunt.com is a compilation of all the websites with the top seeds on each website. So going there would be better than traveling to those three.
